While most Advantage Multisport athletes have been busy putting the finishing touches on their fitness before tapering for their last races of the season, we have seen some standout performances the last couple weeks. Lora Olinger had a fantastic race at Nationals in Omaha. Her bike and run combination has her right in the mix for a worlds slot, a little work on the swim to get her out of the water towards the front will see her qualifying for team USA next year.
Carol Beebe had some issues with sighting on the swim into the sun at the Lake Meridian Triathlon, but she rode/ran her way up to a 3rd place podium slot in her age group. Great race while under heavy training load for the Best in the West Half Iron in Sept.
Steve Crogan rode from the Canadian boarder in Montana to Denver Colorado through the Rocky Mountains this summer. The route had him riding back roads, single track, wash outs, scaling mountains, fighting sabre tooth tigers, etc. maybe a bit of a stretch on that last one, but very impressive nonetheless.
Gina Crosswhite raced the 50/50 on the brutal terrain in Squamish BC. This race consisted of a 50mile run on Saturday, backed up by a 50k run on Sunday. She was one of the few runners to complete the epic double. Perfect weekend to put the finishing touches on her final prep for the Wasatch 100.Advantage Multisport welcomes aboard some new athletes for the 2016/2017 season. Corbin Hudacek will be coming on board after competing at the 70.3 Worlds in Austrailia this coming weekend. Best of luck to Corbin racing Down Under, we will be cheering from afar! Ben Andrews is training for his first tri at the infamous Oceanside 70.3 in April. Brian Bowman will be racing his first two ultra marathons, a 50k a 50miler, this fall. Very excited to be able to see theses athletes work towards their goals, and to watch our other athletes polish off this season in style. More news to come with the big races in September.
