IM Whistler

Congrats to Sean Hackney and Rusty Millsap on their hard earned races yesterday in Whistler.  Both had some issues to work through but fought to the end to finish this epic day.  It has been an honor working with you this year.

More Standout Performances by AM athletes

Advantage Multisport athletes again showed their stuff this past weekend at local races.  3 athletes battled through the winds at the Clear Lake Triathlon and emerged with great results.  Marti Reimer was not only first female, but 4th overall in the race, blasting through the winds to take the lead on the bike and then closing out with the fourth fastest overall run of the day.  This is win number two for Marti in as many weeks.  Lora Olinger continued her age…

Finding Limits (or why occasionally cracking in training can be a good thing), plus race updates

I had the pleasure of supporting three of my athletes this past weekend through their biggest training ride in preparation for IM Canada. The plan was to perform an Ironman-paced ride from Ferndale to Artist Point, finishing with the epic climb to simulate the bike ride profile in Whistler. What a joy it was to observe Roxie Millsap, Rusty Millsap, and Sean Hackney progress through the day. The early riding on the flats went very well, all riding strong in great aero…

Padden Triathlon And Taylor Mtn 50k

What a weekend for Advantage Multisport athletes! Padden Triathlon Marti Reimer returned to form to dominate the dojo at the Padden Triathlon, 10min ahead of second place.  Super exciting to see her back and ready to rock the summer NW triathlon scene. Brent Hartwig took 4th place overall 2 weeks after a fantastic Victoria 70.3.  This will set him up strong for his last block working towards Calgary 70.3. Chris Chesson had a fantastic race coming out of the water near the…

Are You All In?

He was talking about all sports, but used base-jumping as an example. “Are you all in, or do you stand on the edge a coward?” This can be applied to so much in life, and especially to our racing. Let me explain how I take this. It doesn’t mean that we over focus on sport and…

2016 Victoria 70.3 weekend

The 2016 version of the Victoria 70.3 saw great performances for all Advantage Multisport athletes. Where the day before had us experiencing cold winds and side gusts on our little shake out ride that added to prerace nerves, raceday dawned calm, comfortable and confident. I even saw looks of disappointment rather than relief when at bike check in it was stated that the swim would be shortened due to overwhelming weeds in the lake. This crew has been putting in the hard…

2015 Year in Review and 2016 Goals

2015 turned out to be one of the best years yet for Advantage Multisport athletes. We had one athlete race at Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Austria and another qualify for that race at Victoria 70.3. We saw 7 athletes qualify for 2016 USAT Nationals as well as several age group podiums, age group wins and overall wins. We saw multiple 70.3 and Ironman PRs, half marathon PRs and one athlete who raced over 10 half marathons, marathons and ultras, including her…

Xterra Sponsorship for 2013

Great to have Xterra on board as a sponsor to Advantage Multisport athletes again in 2013. I have used their wetsuits for the past 3 years and they are outright the most comfortable, flexible, fastest wetsuit I have worn. Very excited to be working with them again in the coming year!
